Activities of the Centre
The Linguistic Immersion Centre at the University of Ilorin places a strong emphasis on cultural and excursion activities as integral components of its language programs. These activities are designed to enrich the learning experience, allowing students to apply their linguistic skills in real-world contexts and fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity.
The session starts in September/October and ends in August every year. The Centre organises field trips to historical and cultural sites relevant to the languages being studied. Visits to museums, cultural heritage sites, and local communities that provide students with firsthand exposure to the cultural context of the languages they are learning. These excursions enrich their understanding and make language learning more tangible.
