Programs

The Linguistic Immersion programme lasts one year (for those who desire to further their studies in any of our faculties) 1 month, 3 or 6 months (for those who want to improve on their language of study).  Months of discovery! new acquaintances and exchanging ideas, in a stimulating setting for learning your second or foreign language.

Courses are given from Monday to Friday. Students attend different workshops and conferences to improve on their chosen language (English, French, Yoruba, Arabic). Activities as songs, dance, theatre, phonetics laboratory and medical laboratory practices, symposia, conferences, public and inaugural lectures, visiting market, town environment, newspaper reading, conversation classes, excursions etc. are also offered to students.

Experience something new and discover the charming towns of Nigeria! Dynamic and diversified socio-cultural activities, thematic evenings, sports activities and movies are also included.

ADMISSION

Admission Requirement

To be eligible, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

• GCE “O” level or its equivalent with at least passes at credit level in related five subjects including English Language for a four-year Degree Programme.
• GCE “A” level or its equivalent with at least passes at credit level in three related subjects for a three-year Degree programme.
• First Degree for 18 months Master’s Degree Programme.
• Master’s Degree for a three-year Doctoral Degree Programme.

NB: Statement of results are very important.

Students must take a placement test on their arrival in order to determine their level of English proficiency and fix them in their appropriate classes (beginners, intermediary or advanced).

FACULTIES

REGISTRATION

A pre-registration form is to be filled by candidates online and sent through the indicated email on the form or be brought to LIC before or on the deadline of submission. For registration and fees in chosen department after the immersion programme, students are enjoined to check the webpage of the various departments on Unilorin site under international students. 

 A pre-admission letter will be issued to candidates before their departure from their countries. This letter will be retrieved from candidate at their arrival. See the information and pre-registration sheets below.

 Original certificates will be required from the candidates before all administrative processes and commencement of lecture.
